Mt Abundance Homestead

Located on the Warrego Highway, 7 kms west of Roma, the Mt Abundance homestead features Roma's first post office, an underground cellar, early graves, old building sites, sandstone 'overshot' dam built in the 1880's and has important links to early explorers such as Sir Thomas Mitchell and Ludwig Leichhardt.

Restoration of the original Jackaroo quarters are currently underway and the homestead is being progressively furnished.

So enjoy "Smoko" on the wide verandahs of this beautiful historic homestead or under the century old Bottle Trees while taking in the view the early explorers saw.  Also, take some time to enjoy the birds and wildlife that can be found along the Bungewororai Creek.

The Homestead is Open by Appointment, so please phone 07 4622 3836 or 07 4622 3183 to arrange a visit.
